The Quinte and District Association of Realtors is reporting a significant spike in property sales during the month of March.
Compared to March of 2015, there was an almost 30 percent increase in sales across the board, with the dollar sales up by 34 percent.
Residential home sales were up slightly, from 198 in 2015 to 245 this year, while there was a 16 percent drop in the number of homes listed.
Over the first quarter of this year, listings are down about 9 percent, total sales are up 16 percent and the average sale price of a home in the first quarter was just over $229,000.
