A life-jacket and an OPP officer saved the life of a 13 year old boy in Tweed Saturday afternoon.
The boy and his brother were kayaking on the Moira River near Bethel Road when he fell into the
fast running water.
Luckily, he was wearing a life-jacket and managed to grab a tree branch while his brother went for help.
A Central Hastings OPP officer responded and went into the water, grabbed the boy and ended up on
a nearby island.
Tweed firefighters rescued both of them from the island.
The boy was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
