The Belleville Police Service responded to 55 calls for service between 06 April 2016 at 5:00 a.m. and 07 April 2016 at 5:00 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collision / Over 80mgs
Belleville, Ontario – On the 6th of April 2016 at 5:27 p.m. Belleville Police along with EMS responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Dundas St W. A 25 year old Belleville man lost control of his vehicle while driving and collided with a tree and was redirected into a fire hydrant causing substantial damage. Public works was required to attend to temporarily disconnect the water. The male driver escaped the incident without injury.
However, further police investigation led to the driver’s arrest for operating a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit. The accused will attend court April 28th, 2016 in answer to the charge.
Public Intoxication
Belleville, Ontario – On the 7th of April 2016 at 12:42 a.m., city police were dispatched to the north end entertainment section of the city regarding a disruptive female. City police arrested a 35 year old Belleville resident for public intoxication.
