Belleville council will finish up its budget process for this year at special meetings next week.
Unless there are drastic changes, taxpayers can expect a modest increase.
The proposed operating budget increase would be under 3%.
The effect on taxpayers would be minimal.
For example, an urban homeowner in Belleville would see a less than 1% increase in taxes, or about $23 more a year.
The budget meetings are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday of next week.
