A life saving piece of diagnostic equipment was unveiled at Belleville General Hospital Wednesday.
During a special presentation and tour, hospital officials presented the MALDI-TOF (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization – Time Of Flight).
Chief of Staff Dr. Dick Zoutman calls the $250,000 state of the art lab equipment a game changer, as it will give doctors the capability of diagnosing infections and the bacteria that cause infections within minutes instead of days.
