Brighton council has voted against releasing information on lawsuits and insurance claims against the municipality to the public.
Most on council believed such information should stay out of the public eye because many issues were still being resolved.
Councillor Tadman said legal costs are always included in the monthly accounts payable report, available to the public.
Only councillors Martinello and McMurray voted to make insurance claim and legal cost information public.
