The Mayor of Brighton has responded to allegations council broke procedural by-law at a recent council meeting.
The meeting took place on Tuesday and included consultants hired to recruit a CAO and Public Works Director.
Councillor John Martinello walked out of the meeting stating the agenda was not available until 15 minutes before the meeting.
Mayor Mark Walas says last week all councillors were made aware of the meeting, but the public was not properly notified.
Walas says once council realized what had happened, the ombudsman was notified.
They hope to hire a new CAO by month’s end.
