Court officials say charges against an Ontario corrections worker, accused of smuggling contraband to inmates at the Napanee Detention Centre, have been dismissed.
45 year-old Rosemarie Cordeiro, of Tyendinaga Township, had been charged last March, with one count of breach of trust by a public officer, following an investigation by the OPP Crime Unit.
That investigation had been spurred by the Correctional Services Oversight Committee, an investigative branch of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
A court clerk tells Quinte News the charges were dropped becauseĀ one or more crown witnesses refused to testify.
