Hastings County has set its 2016 budget showing a tax increase of just under 3%.
Hastings County set an operating budget of $133.4 million.
For the taxpayer it represents a 2.7% tax hike, which translates into $13.40 on an assessment of $190,000.
CAO Jim Pine says a number of capital projects are planned.
Treasurer Sue Horwood pointed out that increases in electricity rates has caused a 13-percent hike in the bill for the two long term care facilities in the county.
The 14 member municipalities will see their levies to the county increased by 3.4%.
