The Fire Chief in Brighton says damage from a blaze at a home on Long Reach Road today (Thursday) was so severe, they may never be able to figure out what started it.
Firefighters from Brighton responded to 184 Long Reach, around 11:15 a.m., to find flames shooting through the roof and from the basement as well.
Brighton firefighters were also working on a mock emergency exercise at the time of the call and one of the departments trucks was having maintenance work done, so a tanker and more manpower was called in from Trent Hills.
Quinte News has learned the home belonged to Tawnya Dubois and Michael Walmley, who moved in a few years ago and weren’t home at the time.
Crews are still on the scene dousing some hot spots and Chief Lloyd Hutchison is pegging damages at $250,000.
