Belleville Police Service responded to 64 calls for service from the 30th of March 2016 at 5:00 a.m. to the 31st of March 2016 at 5:00 a.m.
Suspicious package
Police responded to a report of a suspicious package at approximately 9:30 a.m. closing a portion of Front St. down near Market Sq. for a short period of time. The package was eventually seized by police and was found to contain non-threatening contents.
Arrest on warrants
Two males were arrested on outstanding warrants in separate incidents overnight.
Shortly after 11:00 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the area of Dundas and Pinnacle. Investigation led to 40 year old Belleville resident Jeremy Weber being arrested on an outstanding warrant for mischief. Weber will be brought before a justice of the peace on the 31st of March to answer to the warrant.
Shortly after midnight, two wicked keen officers on patrol observed a male known to them as having outstanding arrest warrants in the area of North Park St. The male ran from police but was located a short time later at a local hotel and arrested. 22 year old Belleville resident Brandon Ross was arrested on outstanding warrants of prohibited driving, breach of undertaking and failing to attend court. Further investigation led to new charges of mischief and possession of a narcotic. Ross is being held for a show cause hearing on the 31st of March at The Quinte Consolidated Court House.
