The man charged in a bank robbery attempt in downtown Belleville in earlier this month(March 7)
has pleaded guilty and has been sentenced.
35 year old Edward Skelding of Belleville pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.
He was sentenced to a total of 24 months in jail and cannot ever possess a weapon.
He also must submit a sample to the DNA bank.
Skelding entered the CIBC bank and brandished a knife, but ended up walking out empty handed.
No one was injured.
