It was a busy Easter weekend for OPP in the East Region, as they patrolled area highways and trails.
Officers laid over 1,400 charges for various offenses including the “big four”, hazardous vehicles, drivers without insurance and more.
The majority of the charges were for speeding, at 887, with 194 other charges laid for various offenses under the highway traffic act.
The next highest number was 119, that’s how many tickets were handed out for other moving violations.
