A new contract has been reached between the local public school board and its support staff.
Talks went to the last minute Tuesday night, however Quinte News has learned both sides have created a tentative deal.
CUPE local 1022, which represents maintenance, support and office staff, had been without a contract for 19 months and were protesting during Tuesday nights school board meeting.
If the two sides had not agreed by midnight, a work to rule campaign would have been triggered this morning.
Both sides are holding ratification votes in the coming weeks.
No specifics have been released at this time.
