Joint police forces say they’re investigating multiple reports of a woman, dressed as a nurse or personal support worker, illegally entering seniors’ homes along the Highway 401 corridor between Belleville and Brockville.
Kingston investigators say two specific occurrences have been filed, but detectives believe other seniors may have been targeted.
On Feb. 28, a woman dressed in a dark blue shirt and pants, resembling a care worker, entered the building by apparently waiting until someone else opened the secure interior doors.
Police say she then entered at least one senior’s apartment and gave conflicting excuses when questioned by the resident. Later that day, a woman answering the same description entered the nearby home of a senior couple and appeared to be posing as a nurse.
Police say they believe the woman is looking for valuables or prescription medication, but say nothing was taken in either incident.
Napanee OPP reported similar incidents earlier last month.
