Quinte West Council has been asked to put some focus on making the city more bicycle friendly.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health’s Tanya Hill spoke at last night’s meeting, on behalf of the Share The Road Coalition, to give an update on a recent Bicycle Friendly Communities Workshop.
Hill tells Quinte News she’s hoping councillors take the information she gave and commit to creating an active transportation plan for the city.
Hill added that the plan is important for any growing city, since more and more people are using bikes to get around.
The coalition has recommended that council start a working group, including councillors, community members, city staff, police, CFB Trenton officials and more.
No decision on the plan was made last night.
