It appears there is a lot of stress for local physicians.
At the Tuesday March 22, 2016 board meeting of Quinte Health Care, Chief of Staff Doctor Dick Zoutman unveiled statistics from a recent survey, which suggests high levels of stress and workloads for QHC doctors.
Doctor Zoutman says the concern is around burnout.
Zoutman was quick to point out that these statistics are not unique to QHC, but common among Canadian physicians.
He hopes an upcoming conference with a foremost expert in the field, will help shed some light on ways to help our doctors.
Meantime, a similar survey is expected for all front line staff at the area’s four hospitals.
