One of the sweetest events in Prince Edward County was a great success as thousands flocked to nine sugarbushes to taste an assortment of homemade maple treats.
The two-day annual Maple in the County now in its 15th year, kicked off with a pancake and sausage breakfast at most venues with a variety of fun family activities to follow including sugarbush tours, wagon rides, petting zoos, face painting and much more.
The owner of Hubbs Sugarbush and Sweetwater Cabin, Ron Hubbs says the strong partnership among participants and good local media coverage is the formula for such a successful event year over year.
Members of 8-Wing CFB Trenton Squadron 424 parachuted in joining thousands at Hubbs for breakfast Saturday morning.
A plaque presentation to Colonel Colin Keiver followed.
Other participating sugarbushes included: Fosterholm Farms, Vader’s Maple Syrup, Nyman Farms, Sugar Bush Vineyards, Waupoos Estates Winery & Sugarbush, Walt’s Sugar Shack, Strictly Maple and ThreeDog Winery & Sugarbush.
