SEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED
(CRAMAHE TWP, ON) – On Wednesday March 16 and Thursday March 17, 2016 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau –Drug Enforcement Section (OCEB-DES), OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed warrants at a Cramahe Township property in relation to theft of hydro and the production of a controlled substance.
Police found evidence of theft of electricity and located two buildings that were being utilized to grow marihuana. Hydro One crews attended the property to disconnect the hydro service as safety hazards were present. A total of 786 marihuana plants with an estimated street value of $400,000 were seized and destroyed.
The investigation is continuing and charges are expected.
