Two people have pleaded guilty to charges of interfering with wetlands in Brighton and Quinte West.
The charges stem from the building of an unauthorized boardwalk on provincially significant wetlands on Presqu’ile Bay in Brighton, and the removal of some trees and vegetation and site grading, in a small wetland near Tremur Lake in Quinte West.
The names of the people involved and their punishments weren’t released but Lower Trent Conservation has set up a page on its website to try and avoid further issues.
If you’re looking to buy, or develop land, on or near a significant wetland, LTC says you can submit questions to them through the new web portal.
