After winning a do-or-die play-in game to qualify, the Quinte Red Devils are 1-0 at the OHL Cup showcase tournament in Toronto.
The Devils beat the high power Toronto Marlboros 2-1 earlier this afternoon.
Matt Sherwin and Nate Boomhower scored the Quinte goals.
Nick Zarichny, Dawson Baker and Matthew Poole had assists, while Pierce Nelson earned the win between the pipes.
The Red Devils are back at it tonight, at 8:45, when they take on a team from the Northern Ontario Hockey Association.
