He didn’t do it for the recognition, he did it because someone was in dire need of medical attention.
Quinte Broadcasting’s Tim Durkin was honoured Tuesday for his quick thinking in jumping in to administer CPR to Michael Sanderson who was suffering from a heart attack at the Quinte Craft festival in Belleville on Saturday March 12.
Durkin worked with Quinte West OPP officer Jeff Scott, St. John Ambulance volunteers Lisa Butcher, Sharon Heenan, along with paramedics and medical staffers to revive Sanderson with a defibrillator. We hear Sanderson is recovering well.
Durkin thanks the great work of first responders and his CPR training with St. John Ambulance.
At a small ceremony at Quinte Broadcasting on Tuesday, Durkin was recognized for his courage and bravery by the City of Belleville and Quinte West.
