It will be the “Battle of Quinte” in round two of the OJHL playoffs.
The Wellington Dukes outlasted Aurora 6-5 in overtime to eliminate the Tigers in six games and will now face Trenton.
After being shutdown through most of the first five games the big line of Ben Sokay, Luc Brown and Dylan Mascarin exploded for 11 points. Sokay with four goals including the series clincher at 17:15 of the 4th period. Has he ever scored a bigger goal?
It was a wild game that saw the lead change hands four times. Dukes Coach and G.M. Marty Abrams.
The Dukes and Golden Hawks split their four game regular season series. Dates for round two have not been announced yet.
