A water safety statement put in place by Quinte Conservation this past Monday has been extended.
The environmental agency says increasingly warm temperatures are continuing to cause ice conditions to deteriorate and riverbanks can be very slippery.
QC officials say again that they’re not expecting any major flooding, but if you do live near a body of water, you should make sure your sump pump is working, just to be safe.
There could also be localized ponding in some parts of the watershed.
The water safety statement is now in effect until March 21 and Quinte Conservation will release any updates as conditions change.
