The unemployment rate in our part of Ontario was above the provincial average last month.
The rate in this region was 7.3 percent, while the Ontario average was 6.8 percent.
On a positive note, the unemployment rate in nearby cities like Oshawa, Kingston and Peterborough
was much lower at 6 percent last month.
Across Canada, Statistics Canada pegs the rate at 7.3 percent, slightly higher than it was in January.
