Update 3:15 p.m.: Hastings and Prince Edward School Board officials have confirmed a lockdown at Quinte Secondary School is over.
The emergency measures were put in place around 2:10 this afternoon, following an incident at the school and was lifted around 2:55 p.m.
Spokesperson Kerry Donnell tells Quinte News they’re now trying to get students onto their buses and home for the day.
The reason for the lockdown still hasn’t been released but police and school board officials say nobody was injured.
Donnell is also advising parents and students to check the school board website or follow them on Twitter @HPESchools for updates.

Belleville Police have confirmed Quinte Secondary School is under a lockdown, after an incident this afternoon.
A BPS spokesperson has confirmed there’s an ongoing situation, but no details were given out.
Witnesses have told Quinte News students heard a loud bang, just after 2:00 p.m., before the lockdown was put into effect.
