Stirling councillors will take a bit of a break of budget deliberations, until the end of the month.
The budget committee was at the table on Tuesday night, trying to find ways to cut about $450,000 from the financial plan, to keep any tax increases as low as possible.
Treasurer Roxanne Hearns tells Quinte News when it comes to whittling away those funds, some areas for cost-savings have been identified, but no decisions have been made.
She added that ratepayers will already see a bit of a jump on the yearly tax bill, as the average price of assessment rose 4.4%, but she says policy-makers in Stirling-Rawdon are doing their best to make that’s the only increase.
