A 35-year-old Belleville man is facing charges following an attempted knife-point robbery of a downtown bank Monday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m. a male walked into a Front Street bank, pulled out a knife and demanded money from a teller.
The male left the location empty-handed on foot.
Officers arrived and arrested the male without incident at the intersection of Front and Bridge streets.
The Belleville man was charged with Breach of Probation and Attempted Robbery.
He was held for a bail hearing on Tuesday March 8, 2016 in Belleville.
There were no reported injuries as result of the incident to either the public or bank employees.
