A couple of councillors in Brighton want voters to have a say in who the Deputy Mayor will be.
At tonight’s meeting, councillors Martinello and McMurray will ask for a report on the feasibility of having the Deputy Mayor’s position put on the ballot for the 2018 local election.
Now, the Deputy Mayor is appointed by the council of the day, for varying terms.
Brighton council meets this evening at 6:30 in council chambers.
