2016 is the 20th anniversary of a tragic event in Quinte, however, what has come out of that event, has grown into an amazing campaign.
Belleville teen Mark Fyke was fatally shot in March 1996 while on vacation in Florida.
To honour the Nicholson student, family and friends began Violence Awareness and Random Acts of Kindness.
Fyke’s mother and program organizer Chris Macdonald says a lot of good has come over two decades.
The program is offered in 77 schools, reaching over 24,000 students.
Random Acts of Kindness Week will kick off in Kindness Court in the Quinte Mall at 7 p.m. Monday.
