A Belleville man has pleaded guilty to a count of luring and a count of possession of marijuana, at the Quinte Regional Courthouse.
Jason Wight was arrested in July of last year, after an officer with the OPP’s child sexual exploitation unit found an ad he had posted on Craigslist, looking for sex with teens.
The officer posed as a 14 year-old girl and the pair exchanged messages over the next two months and arranged a meeting.
Wight never showed up to that meeting, but officers were able to still identify him through his internet service provider and arrested him.
Justice Geoff Griffin has granted Wight an absolute discharge on the marijuana charge and set a May 2nd date for a sentencing hearing on the luring charge.
