Quinte area residents are making strides in the proper recycling of their beer and wine bottles.
Quinte Waste Solutions spokesman Dan Orr says there has been an 11% drop in glass products in recycling since 2007 and more last year.
Orr says Quinte Waste Solutions saved $85,000 in the recycling budget last year thanks to people returning glass bottles to the beer and liquor stores, since the agency would have to pay to have the bottles picked up and returned.
