A major rebuild on a downtown Picton landmark really upped Prince Edward County’s building permit numbers last month.
In February, 29 permits were issued with a total construction value of just over $12.1 million.
However, one project made up the lion’s share of the total.
The rebuild of the Royal Hotel was worth $9 million.
The developers will keep most of the walls of the heritage building as they are, and build a new hotel with restaurant and cafe inside.
It’s hoped the project will be done by later next year.
