Belleville Police Service responded to 48 calls for service from 26 February 2016 at 5:00 am to 27 February 2016 at 5:00 am.
Impaired Driver – MVC
Belleville, Ontario – At 6:20pm on February 26th, 2016 Stephen Wallace a 53 year old Ottawa man was arrested for impaired driving (4 times the legal limit) after being involved in a property damage only accident with another vehicle at Sidney Street just north of Dundas Street West. Wallace will appear in a Belleville court in March.
Disturbance
Belleville, Ontario- On 26th February 2016 at 4:41pm multiple 911 calls resulted in police units attending the top of the Bay Bridge which was subsequently closed for 10 minutes while police dealt with a young woman in distress. A 19 year old woman was safely apprehended and taken to hospital for medical attention.
Police would like to speak with 2 good Samaritans, a man and woman both in their late 40s early 50s, who assisted the young woman and police at the top of the Bridge.
