The City of Belleville is responding to claims it’s not taking accessibility into account during in the Build Belleville program.
A speaker at a recent Chamber of Commerce lunch made the comments, prompting a response from Director of Engineering Rod Bovay.
He tells Quinte News they are definitely making improvements to downtown accessibility, especially since it’s been required by provincial law.
Bovay says all of the considerations will be put in place through phase two and the rest of the program.
He says anyone who still has concerns is more than welcome to get in touch with the city’s accessibility committee.
