Disabilities and accessibility were on the docket Wednesday morning, as the Belleville Chamber of Commerce held its monthly breakfast.
This morning at the Travelodge Hotel, members listened to Louis DiPalma of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce break down the Ontarians with Disability Act and what it means for businesses in Quinte and Ontario.
DiPalma says so often we think of those with a disability as someone sitting in a wheel chair.
DiPalma told the audience that employers have responsibilities to their staff.
With respect to the Employment Standard, businesses with 50 or more employees had to comply in January, while those with under 50 employees have until next January to comply.
