Prince Edward County is happy with the response it’s getting from Ontario government officials at the conference of Good Roads – Rural Ontario Municipalities Association in Toronto this week.
Mayor Robert Quaiff tells Quinte News he met with the Associate Minister of Health Dipeka Mamerla about getting long term care beds for the expansion of the HJ McFarland Home and had “good cooperation.”
He also met with Transportation Minister Stephen Del Duca and is optimistic about getting provincial funding for rebuilding County Road 49.
After meeting with Del Duca, Mayor Quaiff is also confident money for a new ferry will be included in the provincial budget this week.
