Brighton council is getting closer to finalizing its 2016 budget.
Tonight, council will be holding a public consultation meeting on the proposed $18.4 million dollar budget for capital and operational expenditures.
It comes in 2.85% higher than last year’s working out to an $8 a month increase in taxes on a house assessed at the average price of $253,000.
The meeting gets started at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.
The budget will go to another council meeting for approval after tonight.
