A scam is making its rounds in Belleville.
City police say suspects are threatening a family member with deportation if money is not sent to an alleged Canadian immigration officials.
The scammers say victims will even see a taxi arrive to take them to the bank.
An elderly city resident was duped out of $1,800.
To make it more sophisticated, an RCMP phone number will show up on the call display.
Anyone receiving a call like this should hang up and call the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre
