An application to sever and rezone about 25 hectares, or 60 acres of land along Burr Road in Prince Edward County caused a lot of discussion at a combined planning and council meeting Wednesday night.
Farnsworth Construction wants to sever off a small portion of the property at 794 Burr Road with a house on it, and rezone the property to allow limited residential use and continued agricultural use.
Wednesday night, council did not give the necessary support to pass the re-zoning, although Mayor Quaiff says the application met all of the criteria in the official plan.
A resident living near the property wants the land left as farmland.
No decision on the application was made and will be back before Prince Edward Council March 8th.
