If a local mother has her way there will be more breastfeeding friendly businesses across Quinte.
Megan Irvine launched the Breastfeeding Friendly Quinte program as a way to educate staff on women’s rights to breastfeed and display one of the program stickers in your front entrance so women feel they have a safe place to feed their babies.
Irvine says the idea came to her two years ago after she attended a nurse-in at a local restaurant that was in response to an employee who had asked a mother, breastfeeding her baby, to leave.
Irvine says there is one business type in particular that they are hoping to attract.
Irvine says the program provides all of the education tools and stickers.
