An expansion of funding for the Canada Summer Jobs Program is not only good news for students, but great for area employers as well.
That’s the word from the head of the Community Development Council of Quinte after a commitment of $113 million dollars more per year, over three years, to create student summer jobs across the country.
Executive Director Ruth Ingersoll tells Quinte News that students will be able to earn more money, with employers getting a huge break.
The added funding is expected to create up to 70,000 more jobs per summer, for the next three years.
