The Trenton Scottish Irish Festival committee wants to bring in a big name entertainer this fall.
Scottish Irish organizers will ask that Quinte West council pre-approve an extra $30,000 at its meeting tonight to allow them to purchase the services of the entertainer, whose identity is being kept secret for now.
The festival committee is also working with Mark Rashotte, owner of the Empire Theatre in Belleville, to deal with entertainment and organize a major concert for Centennial Park.
Quinte West council meets tonight at 6:30 at city hall.
