The county of Lennox and Addington wants changes to an ambulance service involving three other counties, including Hastings County.
Lennox and Addington is taking a close look at the cost of its ambulance service at Denbigh, at its north end.
The issue is L&A pays 96% of the cost while experiencing only 40% of the calls.
Call volumes are low; about 200 calls per year spread over a sparsely populated region within all four counties.
The other calls are for Hastings, Frontenac and Renfrew counties.
In a letter, L&A warden Clarence Kennedy calls on Hastings County to assume a greater financial responsibility for the Denbigh service.

There has been a meeting with Lennox and Addington and O’Donnell’s hoping they can all reach an agreement.
He’s awaiting a report back from L&A and expects a decision to be made in March.
