Members of council in Brighton will spend some time discussing marriage at their meeting tonight.
Council will see a report from Clerk Vicki Kimmett asking that council grant her the power to solemnize civil marriages in council chambers.
Also, council will vote on whether or not to research what other municipalities are doing regarding a “council code of conduct.”
If approved, the staff report would also include information from the office of the Ombudsman of Ontario.
Brighton council meets tonight at 6:30 at the municipal office.
