There’s lots of family fun to be had in Demorestville this weekend and at an affordable price.
The Sophiasburgh Winter Festival kicks off Friday night with a Christmas Tree bonfire and free family skate at the outdoor rink in Demorstville at 7 p.m.
Sophiasburgh councillor Kevin Gale says it will be an action packed weekend that gets started on Friday night with a Christmas Tree bonfire and family skate at the outdoor rink in Demorestville.
Hotdogs and hot chocolate will be available for $2.
Gale says the main event with local fire departments battling for bragging rights in the Battle of the Blazes is sure to entertain at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Judges Chili contest begins at 11 a.m. in the Sophiasburgh Town hall and chili lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.
Seventh Town will feature Celtic music from 1:00-3:00 in the hall.
Indoor and outdoor children and family games will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., as well as horse drawn wagon and sleigh rides.
There is a Walleye fish fry $12 per person that takes place from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the hall.
All funds raised go towards Sophiasburgh park improvements.
