Belleville council will be looking at a speed change for the Village downtown.
At its meeting tonight, council will consider changing the speed limit on Front Street.
Currently the entire road is 50 kilometres per hour, however, the Traffic Advisory Committee has discussed moving that to either 30 kilometres an hour or 40 kilometres an hour.
Some officials believe it will make for a safer area for pedestrians.
The Belleville Downtown Improvement Area is in favour of the changes.
Council meets at 5 p.m. at Belleville city hall.
