The Quinte area medical officer of health says the risk for the Zika virus is a “lot smaller than suspected, but not zero.”
Dr. Richard Schabas presented a report on the Zika mosquito-borne virus to the Hastings Prince Edward Board of Health today.
Schabas says the risk for travellers to the areas in the countries where it is prevalent is not great if you are there for a short time.
Schabas emphasized pregnant women should postpone travel to the areas where Zika virus is prevalent.
