A beloved member of the local community will be honoured by Northumberland Quinte West MPP Lou Rinaldi with a special tribute at Queen’s Park this month.
Hugh O Neil passed away suddenly on September 14, 2015 at the age of 79. The former teacher, businessman and Member of Provincial Parliament served from 1975 to 1995 and held several cabinet positions.
Rinaldi told Quinte West council Monday night that it will be difficult to speak about his long time friend but he is honoured to be given the opportunity.
The tribute will be held on February 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Mayor Jim Harrison says the City is arranging to have a bus service take members of the public at a cost so they can attend. He adds there will be an opportunity to speak with provincial leaders as well as tours.
