Accidents
Belleville, Ontario – On January 28th, 2016, at 9:31 a.m. police responded to Hwy 2 at Mitchell Rd in relation to a two-car accident. There were no injuries, and the investigation is continuing.
On January 28th, 2016, at 10:06 a.m. police attended on Hwy 2 as a car had struck a pole. The motorist had to be extricated from the vehicle by Belleville Fire Department. EMS transported the driver to BGH with minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic Enforcement
Belleville, Ontario – On January 28th, 2016, at 3:05 p.m. an officer assigned to radar duties stopped a speeding motorist on Airport Parkway. A further check revealed that the driver was a suspended driver. The 35 year old Belleville man will appear in traffic court on February 8th, 2016. His charges include speeding and driving while under suspension.
On January 28th, 2016, at 5:44 p.m. an officer stopped a car for using wrong licence plates. A 64 year old Belleville man was charged with plates not authorized for vehicle.
Bail Violation
Belleville, Ontario – On January 28th, 2016, at 10:21 a.m. police arrested a 59 year old Belleville man for a bail violation. He was charged with breach of a recognizance and was held for a bail hearing on January 29th, 2016.
Bar incidents
Belleville, Ontario – On January 29th, 2016, at 12:36 a.m. officers were conducting bar checks when a call came in for an unwanted male at a bar on North Front Street. A 33 year old Prince Edward County man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
Several minutes later officers attended in the parking lot of another bar. They observed a male in a parked car rolling a marijuana joint. The 30 year old Belleville man was arrested and approximately 8 grams of marijuana was seized. The male was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for engaging in prohibited activity under the Trespass to Property Act.
